The Bishkek Pilot Green Corridor project, funded by the ADB under Urban Transport Electrification Project, aims to transform a 4.5 km stretch of Kiev Street — from Ibraimova Street to Osh Bazaar — into a model corridor showcasing sustainable urban mobility.
It will feature a dedicated two-way busway, bicycle lanes, widened sidewalks, transit & a pedestrian mall, green landscaping, energy-efficient lighting, & street furniture, all designed to prioritize public transport, walking, and cycling while enhancing the city's urban character. The project seeks to inspire replication in other parts of Bishkek & across Kyrgyzstan.
Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff within the Assignment:
The main objective of the assignment is to develop detailed design for Green Corridor component of Bishkek Urban Transport Electrification Project, with the following specific outputs:
Detailed Engineering Design: Comprehensive design of the Green Corridor including alignment drawings, structural details, engineering specifications, and landscaping plans. This design will integrate sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions to support the city's transition to an electrified urban transport system.
Public Outreach and Acceptance Plan: A strategy and materials to engage stakeholders and the public, fostering acceptance and support for the project. This includes the creation of a dedicated project website, public meetings, and communication materials in English, Kyrgyz, and Russian.
Environmental and Social Due Diligence Reports: Detailed assessments and management plans to address environmental and social impacts. These reports will ensure compliance with local and international standards, promoting sustainable and socially responsible project implementation.
Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Cost Estimates: Accurate and detailed financial estimates for all project components, providing a clear and transparent basis for budgeting and financial planning.
Bidding Documents: Comprehensive and detailed bidding documents for the civil works tender, including design drawings, technical specifications, BOQ, and contractual terms. These documents will facilitate a competitive and transparent procurement process.
Implementation Schedule: A realistic and detailed timeline for the project's implementation, ensuring all activities are properly sequenced and managed to meet project deadlines.
