Narrative Description of Project:

(1) The project comprises of feasibility study for Solarization of existing Depot for Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro Bus Transit System. (2) Assessment of solar potential of selected bus depots using roof area, solar irradiance, and electricity demand. (3) Analyze energy consumption at bus depots, covering current and projected usage, peak demand, load profile, and tariff structure. (4) Provide a preliminary solar design with item list and detailed specifications, ensuring alignment with operational requirements. (5) Develop design, installation, operation, and maintenance options for solar PV systems at bus depots, detailing optimal size, location, orientation, and configuration of panels, inverters, batteries, and other components.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff within the Assignment:

 Development of Operational Plan for existing Fleet to assess the need of electricity for charging of buses,  Developing BRT Operations and Business Plans,  BRT Specifications Development for EV Buses,  Development of Depot Layout Plan for the installation of Solar Panels and placement of steel structure,  Design and assess all electrical components of the new electric bus depot, including Power distribution systems, Charging infrastructure, Internal depot electrification  Estimate Capital, Operational and Maintenance costs, for different business models,  Compare different business models for induction and operation of electric buses and solarization of depot, based on best international practices and previous experiences of bus operations.
