Due to the nature of the project, special considerations were given to the dredging alongside the berths and reclamation work. The type of dredging to be conducted alongside of berths is maintenance dredging which involves further deepening of previously dredged area and removal of siltation from the beds. The area to be dredged along berths will be very small and already disturbed due to previous dredging therefore, significant impacts are not expecting.
IEE for the extension project thoroughly investigated all impacts and recommended its mitigation along with the management and monitoring plan. The report completed and got NOC in December 2006.
