Narrative Description of Project:
The project as a new steel mill is located in Port Qasim Area. It comprises of three main components i.e. Cold Rolling Mill, Rebar Mill and Thermal Power Plant. Billets are used as raw material for rebar, hot rolled strips for cold rolling mill and coal for thermal power plant. The cold rolling mill and thermal power plant covers 60 acres while rebar mill covers 40 acres of total project area. An EIA study has extensively considered all the relevant clauses and sections of national legislations, regulations and guidelines related to the project as well as appropriate international guidelines were also considered. The recommendations would be given on the basis of project activities.
